College football hall of fame

Since its early beginnings in 1951, The College Football Hall of Fame has grown to become one of the world's major sports shrines.

Today, more than 780 players and coaches from ALL divisions - whose careers have exemplified the Foundation's basic mission of Leadership, Citizenship, and Athletic Performance - are enshrined at The College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia.

The shrine of the great college football men, honoring those who have honored the game with their contributions, is the creation and ongoing commitment of The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.

Other activities sponsored by The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame include the following:

  • The Annual Award Dinner held each December for players and coaches is at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. This dinner honors Division I Hall of Famers, National Scholar-Athletes, and a major Awardee.

  • The Annual Enshrinement Ceremonies held at the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend each August enshrine Hall of Famers and honor players from Division IA, Division II, Division III, and NAIA.

  • Polls and contests for NFF members.

  • The awarding of the MacArthur Bowl and championship trophies to all Divisions of College Football.
